The Do’s & Don’ts of a 2020 Summer Beard

The Do's & Don'ts of a 2020 Summer Beard

Summer is a weird and wonderful mix of the outdoors and the air conditioner. This leads to unforgettable nights, everlasting friendships, and just overall good times. It also sends mixed messages to our beards which are experiencing daily fluctuations of dehydration and humidity. Here are the do’s and don’ts to make sure your beard is ready for summer 2020.

Do:

Drink Water. Lots of it. Staying hydrated is good practice but it’s important for beard care because dehydration means less moisture making beard hair brittle and prone to breaking.

Don’t:

Take Corona virus for granted. Continue to practice social distancing and the other guidelines.

Do:

Wear a hat and sunscreen. A hat with a wide enough brim can cover some of your beard and they look cool! Sunscreens for hair are available and prevent the sun from damaging cuticles as well as skin.

Don’t:

Take your beard for granted. A groomed beard in the summer looks and feels fresh. Take your time and stay grooming with your favorite products and tools.

Do:

Wash your beard often. Sweat allows the surface of your skin to be covered with salt, oil, and minerals excreted through your pores. Combine these with dirt, dust and pollution and it’s no wonder you should constantly splash water on your face and beard.

Don’t:

Use Shampoo as a beard product.  Hair shampoo contains chemicals that are meant for your scalp which has thicker, coarser hair. The hair on your face requires specialized care that will make your beard clean, soft, and itch free.
